I have lived in Bakersfield, CA for over 10 years. Dust from the surrounding agriculture industry has been the most annoying thing for me personally, but smoke from wildfires, smoke from fireplaces, ozone and odors from farms close to the city have been bad as well. Finally, the thing that I cannot stand at all is the powerful and offensive odor from marijuana, that over 2019 and 2020 has become more and more frequent. This is the main reason why I have taken the difficult decision to move out of the state. I do not think lawmakers in favor of marijuana legalization have taken into consideration the rights of people affected by such odor.
