Illinois Comments

I have been driving a school bus for over 20 years in the Chicago area, and I don't think OSHA is keeping up on their responsibilities. I see school bus all over the roads, pumping out huge clouds of diesel smoke. I just spent a night in the hospital, thinking there was something wrong with my heart, and it turned out that I had inflammation of the lungs. I have been to the "safety lane" with buses, to have them inspected, and I have seen that sometimes, the inspections are done half-ass. One company I worked for, the diesel smoke was so bad, that as I was coming across the RR tracks just before I got there, I saw a huge cloud of diesel smoke hanging over the buses, and it made me want to turn around and go back home. We are all breathing in truck and diesel smoke, every day, and enough is not being done about it.

I could bnot agree more with the comment submitted by SmallerPicture: it would sooo useful to know which air purifiers clean the air and ALSO do not emit ozone. I have been looking for an air purifier with ionizer, but am really worried about the implications for ozone levels at my house. My wife has lung problems. Finally, Oreck claims that their new machine turns ozone into oxygen. Is this true or even possible?

I'm all about the big inititives for cleaning are air, global warming, etc. I have sever allergies and asthma. But what about the smaller picture. I need help now, dealing with my problems now. I will be great when all these other things are passed, but the smaller picture is being missed. I would have thought that this sight would have something noting ceratain air purifiers to use, and things like that. Doesn't any of that count anymore? If any of the followers out there could recommend a good air purification system, I'd be very happy to hear from you.

Who cares about the gaming boats. So what if they lost revenue. They should not allow smoking anywhere in Illinois including there. If they allow smoking then that will prove how our state representatives really do not care about the people in Illinois and they will not get my vote!
