Why am I having so much trouble getting people to understand that smoke, in any form, is bad! I have tried to be civil with people in explaining that their woodburners or their burning garbage, really effects me badly! I have asthma and can't seem to get any cooperation with neighbors...whatever happened to empathy!

Why is it so hard for people to understand that when you have asthma, even a little smoke causes us to have trouble breathing! And what about those that are supposed to help us, specifically the Department of Environmental Protection! I contacted them and was told to tighten up the house and buy a more energy efficient furnace!!! Why is it just because someone wants to burn wood, that it's their right, but my right to breathe is violated every time these individuals decide to ""fire it up!""

I'm still working on a ""happy ending"" to this, but at this time, all it's done is cause hard feelings! Just because I tried to get government agencies to defend me and they defend the ""burners"" instead...
